On Thursday, February 6th KAPA members converged on the Kentucky State Capitol in Frankfort to advocate for the Physician Assistant profession, and specifically lobby for House Bill 135, to allow Physician Assistants prescriptive authority of schedule medications.
This modified prescriptive authority is a reasonable means of providing PAs, in collaboration with their supervisory physicians, a way to maximize their effectiveness and quality of patient care. It would also create more professional parity to be competitive with other non-physician, advanced practice providers.
