Join KAPA members on Tuesday, February 13th, from 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., 2018 at the Capitol Building Annex in Frankfort as they converge on the Kentucky State Capitol to advocate for the Physician Assistant profession, and specifically lobby to allow Physician Assistants prescriptive authority of schedule medications.
This modified prescriptive authority is a reasonable means of providing PAs, in collaboration with their supervisory physicians, a way to maximize their effectiveness and quality of patient care. It would also create more professional parity to be competitive with other non-physician, advanced practice providers.
More information about Lobby Day, how to register, helpful tips for participation, how to find your legislator(s) and talking points regarding the proposed legislation will be posted soon.
Every PA matters--so mark your calendars now. We need you to attend and show your support! In addition to advocating for this much-needed legislation, you will also help to raise awareness about the importance of PAs in Kentucky to both patients and to the healthcare system.
