KAPA's Legislative Update

As you saw late last week House Bill 135, modified prescriptive authority, passed the Kentucky House of Representatives. We could not have done it without the hard work of PA advocates, like you, across the commonwealth. This bill has strong bipartisan support, having passed with a vote of 91-1, but we need to keep the momentum up as we await a hearing in the Senate.

We at KAPA believe we have strong support for our legislation, but we still need every PA, physician, patient, and advocate to reach out to their Senators and ask that they bring HB 135 to a vote on the floor! There are a couple easy ways to do this.

  • Call the legislative message line at 1-800-372-7181 and ask your Senator to support HB 135 ask them bring it up for a vote in the Senate.
  • Visit the Kentucky General Assembly Website and find your Senator. Visit their page and send them an email, or better yet tag them on social media. Ask them to support HB 135!
  • Share this email with your colleagues, patients, and encourage them to reach out to their legislators to support PAs and the patients we serve. For more information on PA prescriptive authority or draft letters of support, visit the KAPA website.
