KAPA Legislative Update - Urgent Action Need to Advance Prescriptive Authority

KAPA Members,

As you know KAPA leadership has been working diligently on advancing HB135, modified prescriptive authority for Physician Assistants in Kentucky. Our will bill likely be heard in the House Health and Family Services Committee, and we need every single PA in Kentucky to reach out to their legislators and ask them to bring HB135 to a vote. Fortunately we have a handy guide on how to make your voice heard!

Step 1: Call the legislative message line at 1-800-372-7181 and ask your legislator to contact the House Health and Family Services committee to ask them bring HB135 up for a vote.

Step 2: Visit the Kentucky General Assembly Website and find your legislator. Visit their page and send them an email, or better yet tag them on social media. Ask them to support HB135!

Step 3: Share this email with your colleagues, patients, and encourage them to reach out to their legislators to support PAs and the patients we serve. For more information on PA prescriptive authority or draft letters of support, visit the KAPA website.

Finally if you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out to KAPA Headquarters. You can call us at (859) 977-7452 or email our Executive Director, Adam Haley at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
