HB 135 Passes Committee!
Advancing modified prescriptive authority moves forward.

We’re excited to announce that Rep. Steve Sheldon’s House Bill 135, modified prescriptive authority for Physician Assistants, has passed the House Health and Family Services Committee unanimously. This is an important first step in the legislative process and we could not have done it without the hard work of PA advocates, like you, across the commonwealth.

This bill has strong bipartisan support, with 11 cosponsors in the House right now, but we need to keep the momentum up ahead of our 2020 KAPA Lobby Day on February 6th. We need every PA, physician, patient, and advocate to reach out to their legislators and ask that they cosponsor HB 135 and bring it to a vote on the floor!

  • Call the legislative message line at 1-800-372-7181 and ask your legislator to cosponsor HB 135 ask them bring it up for a vote in the House of Representatives.
  • Visit the Kentucky General Assembly Website and find your legislator. Visit their page and send them an email, or better yet tag them on social media. Ask them to support HB135!
  • Share this email with your colleagues, patients, and encourage them to reach out to their legislators to support PAs and the patients we serve. For more information on PA prescriptive authority or draft letters of support, visit the KAPA website.
